MEDIANET at the Benin-Tunisia Digital Forum: Strengthening Cooperation for Sustainable African Digital Sovereignty

MEDIANET at the Benin-Tunisia Digital Forum 2026

On June 16 in Cotonou, MEDIANET took part in the 3rd edition of the Benin-Tunisia Digital Forum, organized by CLUB DSI Benin and the GET’IT Tunisia group. This event brought together experts, decision-makers, institutional stakeholders, technology companies and digital enthusiasts around a shared objective: contributing to the development of a more autonomous, inclusive and resilient African digital future.

Held under the theme “Towards Shared Digital Sovereignty: Building African Technological Independence”, this edition highlighted the major challenges shaping the continent’s digital transformation: sovereign cloud, data centers, digital governance, artificial intelligence, digital inclusion and technological cooperation between African countries.

For MEDIANET, a leading Tunisian player in digital transformation for more than 25 years, this participation reflects a clear vision: placing technological expertise, innovation and field experience at the service of Benin’s and Africa’s digital ambitions.

A strategic MEDIANET presence at the heart of Africa’s digital challenges

MEDIANET was represented by Ms. Dorra Guirate, Regional Sales Director, who participated as a speaker in a high-level panel dedicated to the role of international cooperation, digital inclusion and infrastructure development in building sustainable African digital sovereignty.

The panel also brought together Yazid Akanho, Technical Engagement Manager for Africa and the Middle East at ICANN, and Tarek Latrous, Sales & Marketing Director at SPG, under the moderation of Gloria Tognon Tchegnonsi, Business Analyst at SFP.

Through this contribution, MEDIANET reaffirmed its conviction: African digital sovereignty is not limited to controlling infrastructure. It also depends on the ability of African countries to design, deploy, secure and continuously improve their own digital platforms, relying on African expertise, strong partnerships and an approach adapted to local realities.

Sovereign cloud, data centers and governance: the foundations of technological independence

The Forum discussions highlighted three key pillars for the continent’s digital future: data centers and sovereign cloud, digital governance and technological cooperation.

  • Data Centers and Sovereign Cloud
  • Digital Governance and Sovereignty
  • Cooperation and Digital Inclusion

In this context, MEDIANET advocates a pragmatic approach to digital transformation: building useful, scalable, secure and user-centered solutions. For several years, the agency has supported public institutions, banks, insurance companies, economic operators and international organizations in designing high-impact digital platforms.

Its expertise covers, in particular, the development of institutional portals, e-government platforms, web and mobile applications, e-commerce solutions, business information systems, systems integration, data analytics, digital transformation and 360° digital communication.

This ability to connect technology, user experience, data and communication is a major asset for African markets seeking to accelerate their digitalization while maintaining control over their data, digital services and citizen journeys.

Artificial intelligence serving useful and responsible African digital transformation

Artificial intelligence also played a central role in the discussions. For MEDIANET, AI is a strategic lever to improve the efficiency of public services, strengthen financial inclusion, optimize customer journeys and accelerate sector-based innovation.

MEDIANET integrates AI into its international development vision, particularly through the packaging of sector-specific offers for banking, insurance, e-government, healthcare and communication. This direction also includes the development of demonstrators and POCs around intelligent chatbots, public data analysis, AI-powered donor intelligence and digital solutions adapted to the needs of African markets.

This vision positions MEDIANET as a partner capable of supporting Beninese and African organizations in a new generation of digital transformation: smarter, more automated, more measurable and closer to the needs of citizens, businesses and institutions.

Tunisia-Benin cooperation serving shared digital sovereignty

MEDIANET’s participation in this forum also reflects the importance of South-South cooperation in African technological development. Benin is now emerging as a dynamic market, committed to modernizing public services, digitalizing its economy and strengthening its digital ecosystem.

Within this dynamic, MEDIANET brings a distinctive value proposition: African expertise built in the field, across diverse and demanding environments. The agency is present in several countries across the continent and has recognized experience in key sectors such as e-government, banking, finance, insurance, education, healthcare, tourism and e-commerce.

This knowledge of African markets enables MEDIANET to offer solutions adapted to the institutional, economic, cultural and technological realities of each country. In Benin, this approach takes on its full meaning: the objective is not only to deliver platforms, but also to help build a sustainable, interoperable and sovereign digital ecosystem.

MEDIANET, a Tech, Communication and Innovation partner for Africa

MEDIANET’s vision is built around three complementary pillars: technology, communication and innovation. The group positions itself as a partner capable of supporting organizations end to end, from strategic thinking to operational deployment, including UX/UI design, development, integration, data, digital communication and innovation support.

This comprehensive approach responds to the current needs of African institutions and companies: digitalizing services, strengthening relationships with citizens or customers, improving internal performance, promoting digital projects and developing high-impact solutions.

  • IT development and digital platform integration
  • AI solutions and process automation
  • Institutional and 360° digital communication
  • Data analytics, performance management and journey optimization
  • Open innovation, incubation and startup support

MEDIANET’s international development strategy confirms this ambition: consolidating its presence in Africa, developing strong local partnerships, strengthening vertical offers, integrating artificial intelligence as a differentiator and structuring expansion around high-potential African markets.

Innovation, startups and value co-creation

Beyond technological solutions, MEDIANET also carries a vision of open innovation through its incubator, designed to support startups and entrepreneurs by leveraging more than 25 years of digital expertise.

This dimension is particularly relevant for African markets, where entrepreneurial innovation plays a key role in creating local solutions, generating youth employment, supporting digital inclusion and transforming essential services.

For Benin, MEDIANET’s experience in incubation, mentoring, structuring startup programs and co-developing digital solutions can contribute to strengthening the local innovation ecosystem and better connecting startups with the needs of institutions, companies and donors.

MEDIANET in Benin: a long-term commitment to Beninese and African digital transformation

MEDIANET’s participation in the 3rd edition of the Benin-Tunisia Digital Forum in Cotonou confirms its commitment to African digital transformation and shared digital sovereignty. Building on its experience across Africa and its network of local partners, MEDIANET considers Benin a strategic market to consolidate partnerships, strengthen proximity with decision-makers and support major digital modernization initiatives.

Through its expertise in e-government platforms, sector-specific digital solutions, cloud, application architecture, artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital communication, startup support and open innovation, MEDIANET aims to stand alongside Beninese institutions, companies and ecosystem players over the long term to develop African solutions that are adapted to local realities and create sustainable value.
